As you can see in the graphic above, I’ve got a 2-car garage that I’ve turned into my woodshop, while leaving space for my wife to park inside.
Even though it was laid out to allow for that parking, she usually parks outside so I’ve got more room for assembly. Not only that, we’ve got 3 kids and they tend to need space for their outside toys and sports equipment, bikes, etc..

But overall you can see how I’ve laid this out a bit unconventionally. I have no functional band saw, and I also lack the dedicated space for a jointer. While I do own a benchtop Craftsman jointer, I do not find the need for it that often so it stays on the storage shelf built into my outfeed table.
The lower shelf of the outfeed table also houses my main table saw jigs.
My planer station is a simple work table that can be moved out of the way when I don’t need it. This corner of the garage tends to collect quite a bit of sawdust, so the fact that I have a 4″ dust collection tube laying across the floor behind my table saw doesn’t really bother me, as I rarely go to that area.
My main workbench and my miter saw station have I built with custom wooden drawers, wooden slides, and wooden handles. The larger tool hutch (which holds my drill press and sanders) has large plywood drawers for bigger hand/power tools, clamps, etc…, and for it, I used full extension ball bearing drawer slides, but still with custom handles.
